Can I Use Comfortis On My 9week Old Puppy?

Comfortis is only recommended for use in puppies 14 weeks and older. Frontline spray or Advocate are safe for a 9 week old puppy. eta Capstar or Revolution are also apparently safe for pups over 6 weeks of age.

I have found fleas on my 9week old puppy and wondering whether it can be harmful to use Comfortis on her at such a young age. Would it be better to wash her with a flea treatment shampoo rather than applying Comfortis???

The information leaflet accompanying Comfortis tablets lists this information under the heading Precautions

Comfortis chewable tablets should not be administered to puppies less that 14 weeks of age.

Thanks everyone for letting me know about the age precaution. I read many good things about Comfortis for killing adult fleas from this forum so instantly thought that was the way to go. I will opt for Advocate, Capstar or Frontline instead thumbsup1.gif
