Ruin Maniac
Hi everyone, I'm trying to get my samoyed, Suleiman, used to strangers and other dogs. Because of his vaccination schedule it's been difficult to do so safely, especially as most people I know in the area don't own dogs (independent university students), and some of those who do don't necessarily keep them up to date with their healthcare :/ Sully has Luca to interact with, but because they're both young they haven't exactly taught each other any manners  I wonder if anyone with friendly dogs who are up-to-date with their vaccinations might like to meet up in the Banyule area with a few friends and I for a puppy play date? pip1981
Hi There Ruin Maniac, I'm not a regular on DOL anymore, just happened to pop on here for a look today. I have 2 adult female Sammies, and am hoping to attend a community event tomorrow afternoon with one of them. Not sure where in Banyule you're located, but if it's not far from Mernda (in the city of Whittlesea) you might be keen to attend. Stockland (developers of housing estate Mernda Villages) have opened an off-leash dog park in Mernda and are holding a Dog's Day Out kind of event for locals to meet and greet with each other and a local groomer, dog training school, etc. My friend runs the school, and she will be demonstrating some agility and tricks. And there will be a free sausage sizzle. It goes from 4-6pm tomorrow (Sunday 20th), you may find more info online? I'm hoping to attend for a short while from 4pm, maybe Dakota and I will see you there, she's VERY playful, and LOVES puppies, in fact, she's a 5 year old puppy, LOL. :D Otherwise, I'm hoping to arrange a group meet at Kepala within the next month or so, as it's been too long, and I believe all the regular attendees have up to date vaccs, etc. Or I could possibly even arrange to meet up with you and Sully somewhere else sometime (Dakota is kept all up to date healthwise). Cheers :D
megan_
If I wanted to socialise my pup with dogs that would *appropriately* interact with a puppy and help teach them manners then I'd book a session with Cosmolo (underdogtraining.com.au). She has 5 very stable, well mannered dogs who will interact appropriately and let them know when they cross the line - without putting the pups in danger. They're also different sizes which is good for the pups.
