redangel
I have been officially told my speedlite will not be able to be resurrected unless I spend $$$$. Advised Id be better off investing in a new one as my model has been superseded for a few years. I have looked around. I see aftermarkets are much cheaper, and yes I realise you get what you pay for....but I have blown my camera budget for 12 mths and I was looking for a temporary fix. Am I kidding myself should I just suck it up & wait for a genuine??
kja
There are lots of people who don't use Canon or Nikon speedlites and get along just fine. They can be a nice, cheaper addition to your arsenal.
CrazyCresties
I got one just before christmas, the Yongnuo 568ex for $220. I have only played with it briefly so far, but remote wirless control works with my 7D as does the HSS :) If you look on POTN there is a lot of info with regards to the Yongnuo models. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=35 I got mine from hypop and had prompt and excellent service from them :) http://www.hypop.com.au/yongnuo-yn-568ex-high-speed-sync-hss-flash-speedlite-for-canon.html
