ChewieTAG
I just wonder why some dogs love to eat tissue paper or any paper with the same textures, or newspapers. Snowy loves to eat it. Why ? My other old shih tzu Teddy, don't. Sometimes, so happened that I didn't see one tissue flew down on the floor, Snowy got it and plays with it before tearing it to pieces to eat. Will paper digest through if not consumed too much? Didn't see it in his poo though. No sign of constipation or discomfort. Just wondering... Walkies involves me constantly on the lookout for dirty tissues, I don't wanna know what diseases could be in the ones lying on the streets and I defintiely don't want to be pulling them out of her mouth I do know of a dog that would quickly nick the toilet paper out of the toilet whilst someone was turning around to flush after they had done their business! I know right! She was in temp foster care and when she went to her permenant foster carers they were told she likes to steal things from the bathroom. The full extent of the stealing however may have not been realised until this incident.

noisymina
 Mine likes to jump on them and shred them - but that is where it ends. I don't think the odd tissue would hurt them - just plain old roughage! If they can deal with bones, I doubt a tissue be any object. I imagine, like most things tho, they could be overdone and too many at once could be blockage material.

Moderate intake should be the key
Guest Labradork
Mine don't love tissue paper, but they are obsessed with toilet rolls... It's like all their dreams come true when you wave one in front of their eyes! It makes me laugh, considering all the money I spent on Clean Run  Edited January 11, 2013 by Labradork
tdierikx
Toilet rolls are the best!!! Fully digestible fun. My dogs all know the sound made when the toilet roll is nearly finished, and they will sit in front of me while I'm on the loo and look from me to the roll as if to say "is it ready yet?"... My friends all keep their empty rolls for me to give to my dogs and fosters... so there's an almost endless supply of them around here... lol! T. littlesev
Mine loves to steal used tissue from our trash can and rip it apart. He eats the occasional few but most of the times, I manage to take it off his mouth and he'd growl at me. I usually show him the tissue on one hand and his favorite treat on another. He always goes for the treat
