dogsforjane
Hi everyone! I will be picking up my puppy in 6days and I want to enrol in puppy pre-school for the first few weeks of it's puppy stages as I hear those are the crucial learning stages of the dog's life! The pup will be 8weeks old when I pick her up next week and I am hoping to enrol her in a class before it is 12weeks old. I am located in inner-west Sydney any recommendations would be lovely thanks! minimax
Look for one that is run by a qualified trainer, not just a vet nurse. All the major vets run them, I did mine at my local vet in Drummoyne but I've heard good things about Dog Logic http://www.doglogic.com.au/ (I see them training at Leichhardt dog parks on a Sunday, adults though not pups, and they look like they are having fun! Plus their dogs are cute lol)
fbaudry
How exciting! Cocker puppy Squeeeeeee!!!!!! Not exactly inner-west but I can strongly recommend the one at VetMed in Randwick. It is run by a Delta instructor and ticked all the boxes for me and my own little cocker...
Poppy's mum
Gladesville vet has a Delta instructor -Gayl O'Grady. I did the adult class - very well structured. They do puppy class too. I think.
freundhund
Sydney All Breeds Dog Training Club. Sunday mornings, St Luke's Park, Stanley Street Concord. Fantastic instructors, highly, highly recommend. I have done the Delta course and find this club really good.
Danois
They're great for obedience work. I know the girls at DogLogic and they're lovely. I did their class 4 years ago and found it great as they don't let it be a free for all play session.
dogsforjane
Thanks for all the recommendations everyone ! I will definitely look into all of them One thing I'm not too certain about is, I believe you are not supposed to take your puppy outdoors until they have got their second vacc at 12weeks incase of parvo? Though can going to puppy school be an exception...

You can take your pupy out and about with you to socialise it before 12 weeks, just carry it
luvsdogs
I've taken both my pups to Wagschool. The 1st time was at Animal Tracks Vets at Homebush. The 2nd time was at a vets at Rhodes. Both classes are run by the same Delta instructors.

Definitely worth enrolling your puppy into puppy pre-school as I learnt/gained so much insightful information on understanding and raising your puppy even on the first lesson. Would highly recommend Dog Logic. Can't wait for our next session !
pickles_chester
Just thought I would post in here that Emma and Sam at Kirrawee Vet are unreal and we Took Milly who learnt to socialise and basic commands really quickly at this school. They only have a small group of about 6 puppies at any one time and you get to do all sorts of awesome things at the hospital and they are all on leashes. smashtank
I'd be interested in any Eastern Suburbs recommendations too. I emailed Dog Logic but that might be a pain for me to get to.
