Havent seen them before but there is a FB page. 3R Animal Rescue is a non profit organisation that rescues dogs, rehabilitates them both mentally and physically in preparation for their new homes. Company Overview 3R Animal Rescue is a non profit organisation that rescues dogs that have been surrendered by owners, from unhealthy environments or dogs from situations that would have them be put to sleep. We take these dogs, assess them, put training, behaviour modification, and canine therapy in place to turn their lives around. We volunteer our time to make sure these animals get the best home possible. Also found a very similar group here, with their FB page directing here [American]. It says they are a not for profit organisation so maybe they are in the process of doing the paperwork? Some people whom I value highly have promoted them so they have to have some background in rescue. Maybe they are an offshoot of another longer term organisation that had a falling out with management and started out on their own? (just guessing, don't know for sure). We know not every person can open their homes to a dog, however donating what you can for food, or ongoing care will go along way to help cover the costs that we incur. Just to give you a quick idea - Food per dog per week - $60 Rehabilitation and obedience training per dog per week - $250.00 Flea treatments & heart worm per dog - $180 Vet appointments per dog - up to $500 No matter how big or small, any contribution is helpful to help us care and give these dogs the best future possible. Please donate! (Please note that at the moment your donations are not tax deductible, however we are working on this!) What on earth are they feeding dogs that costs $60 per week per dog? I feed very large dogs for $10.50 each per week and they tend to get fat on that amount if I'm not making them exercise every day. She thought she would be able to help fostering and educating.. When I saw the dollars they were asking for I had a huge red flag.. There are 5 dogs on petrescue under their name.. A Saint Bernard, a Chi with one eye and two others.. I hope others are as wary as my friend before jumping on board. Couldnt help myself... Have asked question on their FB page.. Just because they are still filing thier paperwork doesnt make them any less expensive to run than a charity. Imagine if charities could only help if the money came from their own pockets with no donations lots of groups would not be able to do a whole lot. 8 minutes ago · Like.. ME Was just asking.. Please dont bite my head off but in the world of rescue we have fed and cared for animals out of our own pocket.. Vet fees have been reduced as local vets encourage rescue.. e.g. I rescue from pound $21 for m/chip.. desex vacc health check etc costs $250.. I volunteer my time for training education and feed the dog for under $20 per week.. Dog will rehome for around $350.. With a follow up and return available within the first 2 weeks and ongoing assistance as required.. I an ALWAYS out of pocket.. But thats why I rescue : For the animal NOT for the money.. Little Gifts Posted January 7, 2013 Share Posted January 7, 2013 I think that people should be able to ask a new org about itself because that is part of the PR process, growing, becoming accepted, getting community support, networking, etc. Some of their costings look a bit wierd but maybe they are trying to accentuate the costs involved in rescuing a dog? The only rescue group I know of up that way is PAA but the Best Friends FB page has now been expanded to assist a range of smaller rescue groups so someone on there might know about these guys? We are working on making all donations tax deductible. Unfortunately the cost of adoptions doesn't come close to covering the costs of the dogs in care. At the moment all expenses come out of our own pockets and will continue to do so until we are up and running and have received some donations. Donations help us continue doing what we do. We have 3 of our 5 dogs in training at the moment which includes accommodation (as they are being housed at a pet resort where a trainer comes everyday), the cost of the trainer himself, Food which includes high quality biscuits and chicken necks and frames etc. and of course vet care (vaccinations, heartworm, intestinal worming, desexing, eye care for one of the dogs and a cut paw for another) So as you could imagine it does get expensive. We like to give our dogs the best care possible so this is where our money goes. Costs also build up the longer our dogs are in care so we rely on people sharing our pooches to get the in the best home possible, as soon as possible. 15 minutes ago · Like · 3R Animal Rescue Inc. So many groups these days jump on you the instant you dare ask anything about them, so that's a good thing anyway. It worries me they'd be fundraising without the license, as that means they're breaking the law, but I also don't agree with the idea that Rescue must be out of pocket. I think Rescue Groups should be run as a business and, constantly being in debt, will do nothing for the dogs. If you can run your group with a profit (and by 'profit,' I mean the kind that goes back into the group and not in people's pockets), then you're doing a brilliant job. It means you're prepared for if dogs need extensive surgery in the future, etc. However, the concern comes when that profit isn't accountable - which is exactly why groups need to have fundraising licenses. They are only a new group but seem to be trying to do things properly. They have a few dogs in care that need rehabilitation and they are paying a behaviourist for board and training. A couple of those are the neo mastiff and st bernard, I have met both dogs. The group is run by 2 NDTF students and they are working with the trainer who runs the NDTF course on the Sunshine Coast. I asked them recently if they could take a dog but they didn't have room (was just before xmas) I can tell you they are not like PR :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I will be seeing this person on the weekend and they will tell me more in person. Ams I will probably pass anything important I hear on to you, just in case.
