kja
A couple of my friends are starting another year of their fortnight challenge. They decide on a theme - alternating - and post to a single dedicated blog once a fortnight. So that's only 26 themes and 26 posts with lots of time to deal with real life and the challenge. They did five photos per theme this past year and I think are doing three photos per theme this year. I'd love to do something similar but can't find anyone local to do it with me. Since the internet makes us all closer in some ways, I thought I'd ask the DOLers if anyone would like to join me. I know I won't do it alone... anyhoo, if you're interested please let me know here or PM me :) Thanks! edit: Here's the link to the blog so you can check us out! piper
Oh that sounds much more doable than a photo a day. I would be interested :)
kja
Yay!! Anyone else? @piper - that's what I think, too. Two weeks for each theme and not having to think of things individually every time just feels like a lighter, more workable load to me. I also like the prospect that someone will think of something I'd never considered!

kja
OK! Let's get rolling as the new year will be upon us soon :) In no particular order, things we need to address: - ideas for themes. We really need to pick one ASAP so we can get started thinking. - need a list of those who will commit to the project and these will be regular posters (once a fortnight). We should have a photo of each person to include in the About section of the blog. I'm happy to be the one to put that part together, so please send me a photo sized for web (900 longest side works great) -> [email protected] - I'll create a blog later today on blogger and figure out how to add each person so you can post directly - anyone who would like to contribute but will not commit to doing it for the year, let me know, as I think we could have guest bloggers for each theme, too - first theme will run from 01 Jan to 14 Jan with posts needing to by up by 15 Jan. We want to post more or less at the same time. If you are finished early, there is a simple feature to use to schedule the post date/time. - Title for the blog ideas :) Please copy/paste these and add as appropriate: REGULAR CONTRIBUTORS: Kristin (kja) IDEAS FOR THEMES: in the yard shadows BLOG TITLE IDEAS: ? PossumCorner
Sounds good - a commitment, but not unrealistic demanding - so many of the dailies or even weeklies back-pedal to appear more of a chore than a joy. Can't think of themes without making them too narrow, - or over re-cycled like backlits and motion blurs etc. "Seen today out driving" "Sport" - cricket, dog-sport, netball, whatever's on. "Cooked or Raw" - a done dish - cordon bleu or simple salad. "Self Portrait" - but is already covered in the About Section (once is enough or one too many, oh well if must). Blog-name - no inspirations - Cameras Off-lead.

kja
Excellent! As I was setting things up this morning the name thing was a pain so I made a unilateral decision and named it Our Photo 2013. The blogger address is ourphoto2013.blogspot.com Hope that works OK for everyone :) When you email me your picture please also include the email you want to use - I have to "add authors" by email address it looks like. I created a new one in gmail just for this adventure so whatever one you want to use is fine - I think it's mostly just so you can access and post.
