rajacadoo
ACD's once a day in the mornings... Basenji's are all fed twice a day otherwise they will all vomit bile, if not fed quite close to 12 hours apart ... Just a handful of kibble in the morning, and their main meal is at night... MarieEvans
Ok.. Just curious as to when & why dogs are fed ? (thanks, nekh, for the idea) I was always taught to feed dogs at the end of a day's activity , as this is similar to what happens with most predators ..they hunt, kill, eat ,then rest to digest. yes, a snack in the morning if extra energy may be needed .. but main meal at the end of a day , always. I would be interested to read your experience? We feed our dog thrice a day and nothing in between. I don't want to overfeed him as we had a neighbor whose puppy died because of indigestion. Well, that's what they told us. No one investigated on it anyway. When I train my dog, though, I give him small special treats to encourage him to push through the training. But that's just about it. The Spotted Devil
Adults get fed at night here - every day is different in terns of training (quantity of treats vary) and exercise so some time in the evening is easier. In summer it could be as late as 9pm if I've had them out training as the sun goes down or if they've been at agility training (under lights). Sometimes when I leave the house (could be any time) they'll get half a small treat biscuit.
