megan_
I asked aboutvit c a while ago. Dogs produce it naturally but if you give it to them their body stops producing it and you need to give it for life. One dose might be okay though - I suggest PMing Steve to find out
OSoSwift
I would be thinking along the lines of retrobulbar abscess. Hope she is okay and feeling better very soon. Poor girl must be very uncomfortable
persephone
Dogs produce it naturally but if you give it to them their body stops producing it and you need to give it for life . Oh ? I hadn't heard that one ... do you have a link to the info? makes me wonder now. I have had dogs treated with Vit C per injection, and orally , and the vets never mentioned then giving vit. C for life..... I use it a lot here - for itchy dogs, infections.... it would be good to know if this is true! *paging Rappie*.....
mixeduppup
I asked a few friends and they said you'd need to give it over a number of days/weeks/months at a high dosage and even then it would be an individual dog thing. Once should be fine. ETA: Vet friends, Holistic vet friends and vet nurse friends Edited December 9, 2012 by mixeduppup

Steve
You can give Vit C in short doses problem arises when its given as we take it as a preventative over a long period .You need to see it as a medicine not as a supplement for dogs.
