tlc
Hi Guys, just wondering if there is an easy way/program to be able to have a photo one side of a picture and text or just blank the other side? I have tried apps for collages and picasa but they just don't turn out right. Not proportainate if that makes sense. Just wondering what people use and how hard/time consuming it is? minimax
Depends on if you can resize the pic, or if you took it especially so there is some blank space you can overlay something over to use for text.
tlc
effectively I want to be able to create a landscape image out of a portrait picture. So one side would be the picture and the other side would be blank. Ill see if I can find an example.
minimax
Yes I'd use photoshop. Create a base layer the size you want your finished image to be, then each additional image as a layer (including the blank bit for your text) so you can position them how you want. tlc
Didn't you start a thread about this a while ago? I'm pretty sure I replied to it and said to use Photoshop and there were some other suggestions from people too. I think you also contacted Ruthless about it if I remember correctly? Yea I did ask Ruth, she used in design, way too complicated for me. I don't remember making a thread, I will go back and see if I can find it. tlc
Yes that was picassa, and it is easy in there but my picassa program keeps crashing, I might delete it an reinstall. Its the first program I have come across on my mac that it doesn't like! Wow how silly am I, I only made that thread in July. I have such a horrendously bad memory! Mrs Rusty Bucket
<table> <tr> <td><img src=http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m290/bluetripodjuly/banksia.jpg width=300 alt="victorian banksia"></td> <td>text here</td> </tr> </table> I use tables eg one row, two columns - picture in one column, text in the other. But don't seem to be able to do it here. Trouble with code. Hacking risk.

tlc
Thanks, I'll give Picasa another go, just downloading it now. Took me ages to figure out how to remove a program off the mac, but think I figured it out now.
tlc
First one done with picasa, (reinstalling seems to have ironed the bugs out!) Another lovely DOLer sent me a msg and said she uses Print shop Pro which jogged my (very bad) memory into remembering I have that and its so simple, so the second one done with Print shop. I know PS is good but sometimes you just want to do it the easy way!
