You have no idea how excited Katdogs is... she can't keep the grin off her face... lol!

I'm giving her and Stevie plenty of puppy cuddling and playing experience with my latest addition too - just so they'll be well ready for Sammy when he comes home... *grin*

Lara and bubs are looking great Tapua, but can I ask one question? How the heck do you get Lab hair off the vetbed?

T.

lol I am starting to realise how excited she is. Lab hair of the vet bed - I brush Lara alot the day before and a couple of days after whe whelp that gets rid of alot of hair and the vet bed gets thrown in the washing machine daily - its more like how do I get the Lab hair out of the washing machine. lol The poor machine has to have an extra rinse after the Vet-bed to get rid of the hair.

Katdogs

Sammy is now 720g - he is officially a lard arse :) The pups btw are not particulary big IMO they are heavey - so I guessing they are laying down good bone. Lara's milk must be very good.

Let it dry and then use the vacuum cleaner!

Big congratulations on your puppy Katdogs!

A black Lab boy was born on Saturday morning and we pick him up at Christmas!

Our beautiful Stevie was a BYB/puppy farmer pup given to us as a gift when she was less than six weeks old.

Jodie is a foster failure Kelpie, due to DOL Rescue. We love both madly of course.

However, our new puppy Sammy is a DOL dog through and through - Tapua bred out of Invergowrie and Driftway lines. I didn't know anything about anything about dogs before joining DOL, but this puppy is the result of years of reading of this forum. Good breeder, lots of thought and planning, he will be well fed and trained and cared for from the start. If he's show-worthy I might even try to do that

I should have called him Troy!

:dancingelephant::dancingelephant::happydance::happydance:

Woo Hoo. You picked a fantastic breeder ! Pauline snatched Master Breeder of the Year Last Year and the stuff she does to get it right is spectacular. That gives you free MDBA membership too!

Thanks Steve.

I think Tapua's scales are broken. She says Sammy is 815g at day 5

Nope scales arent broken lol I re-set 4 times cause I couldnt believe it  As I said in the emial it is not important, the main thing is that they are gaining weight lol. Once they are on their feet they start to burn weight and they become a tad more shapely :) Though maybe 'Buddha' isnt such a bad idea :grimace: he si a chunky boy.

My Lab's pups some years ago weighed in at 500g each at birth - and she had 9 of them! They grew at a rate of knots too, probably because my girl had mega boobies to rival Dolly Parton's...

The largest pup in that litter weighed 9.3 kgs at 10 weeks old.

My vet adopted one of the smaller males, and he ended up at around 36kgs lean... so I don't think Katdogs' Buddha Boy is doing too badly there... lol!

It will be funny to see him and my pup playing together when he's had all his shots - she's 8 weeks older than him, so she might be reasonably even with him when they can play.

Is your 8 week old a Lab too?

TD's pup is a rescue foster that has failed - they are in love with each other. She's a blue fawn brindle Staffy cross with two different shades of blue eyes! There are some lovely photos of her in the Photos and Rescue forums. She's a beautifully behaved munchkin except for pulling at pants legs, and TD is determined that she will be a great ambassador for well-socialised bull breeds :)

As Katdogs says Tapua, Harper is not a Lab, but she lives with one - does that make her an honorary one? *grin*

My Labrador wasn't anywhere nearly as well bred as yours, and her name is Trouble for a reason - but she does play really well with all of the rescue fosters I have coming through here. So you could say that Harper has been well and truly "Lab tested"... *giggle*

Harper actually will stop tugging my pants leg if I tell her to now Katdogs... and she is learning fast that jumping up to demand cuddles doesn't work - 90% of the time now she will sit and look up to ask for her cuddles like a good girl. We are still working on her "boot bandit" thievery... *sigh*

Think you might need to move to a bigger house, KD.

Maybe after tomorrow night's Ozlotto win, we'll get Sammy and Stevie a room each! (I've also promised Stevie a golf course with sand and water traps, and a duck pond, and Jodie gets some sheeps to wrangle).

Thinking about the positive side, at least Sammy will be big enough to play with Stevie sooner rather than later! I won't worry about getting puppy-sized toys

Congrats on the new puppy :)

My friend Andrew has a Tapua black lab boy, named Sapper, he got Sapper at abour 9 months old. We have just had hime staying with us for a few months and he is just the best dog ever. I was saying to Andrew that I would be more than happy to keep him. He is just the sookiest most loveable fella, so calm and placid and gorgeous. Here are a couple of recent photos of him, he's a big boy!

I don't know if he is related to your new puppy but I thought you might like to see a couple of photos...

Stole my spot while I was in the shower!

Ah Sapper Dapper Doo - I hope Nads is OK and his baby boy will always be with him but I know you look after Sapper beautifully for Nads. Sapper is not related to Sammy at all. But his mum Tua Tahi has a superb temperament she is a Delta Therapy Dog and works with me in the NSW Gvt Responsible Pet ed program. Here is a picture of Sapper aka Dimples as a baby :) Wasnt he just the most adorable baby

Sorry Monique I didn't reply earlier. I remember reading the original threads about Nads and Sapper and having a bit of a tear in my eye. Sapper has become a very handsome man and I hope to meet Andrew one day with my own boy, even if they're not related!
