teekay
Has anyone used a vets on the sunshine coast who will do titre testing. I've just spoken to the receptionist at our vets (she's been there for as long as I have used them - 6 yearsish) and she had never heard of it. She is talking to the vets and getting back to me but just wondered if anyone had used one around here. Edited to clarify, I mean draws the bloods and send them away etc. Not actually do the test :)themselves Edited subtitle to include Gold Coast as per post #9 Edited November 3, 2012 by teekay
stormie
Any vet really should be able to do it - as far as I know all the major vet pathology labs offer the testing. The difference will be in pricing though. If the path lab forwards the bloods onto another lab for testing, they will add their own fee on top of the other labs testing fee, if that makes sense. bianca.a
YES! Retief Botha at Maroochydore Vet Surgery - Maud St, Maroochydore. I had heard on here that the lab in WA is much cheaper than Gribbles so he kindly set up an account so he could send my dogs bloods there!!! If you do go there, please say hello from me :) I'll have a hunt in a bit for the ph number for you. My vet is looking into it for me but I will see what price they each come up with. Can you remember how much you paid?
bianca.a
Not off hand but I will have a hunt for the receipt tomorrow (still haven't unpacked properly). I know it was heaps cheaper via the WA lab though.
teekay
Sorry Bianca, don't worry. I gave them a call today. They quoted $100 all up. $70 for the test and $30 to do the blood draw. Sounds very reasonable. I think I will go ahead with them. Thanks again.

teekay
So I ended up going with my normal vets as they had already ordered the stuff from Vetpath and said they would match the Maroochydore vet's price. They have just rang and Jenna's levels are fine so she doesn't need the vaccinations this year Just wanted to point out though; I emailed a place called Animal Options Veterinary Clinic in Ormeau, QLD. By the time they replied I had already gone with my vet but it is worth mentioning they do the tests in house and I was quoted $70.70. The email does say that covers Parvo, Distemper and Hepatitis but I would want to double check the hepatitis part. Seems too good to be true. I have saved their email and will contact them when she is due next year. Edited November 3, 2012 by teekay

Levi
I use Animal Options for Titre testing (they are local for me) and have done for several years. They do indeed test for all three :)
