efowler
Glenfield Road Animal Shelter has their annual open day today! It was disappointing that there werent bigger crowds but generally I think it was a great success with all the stalls they had there. So to the rangers and WWCC!! I also think it is so great to see most the rescues come together for the day and appreciate eachother. Really really lovely to see and a great chance to catch up. There was CPR, RADAR, SMART, BFPR, BPAR, RSPCA Wagga and WAR :D
JaneyA
Yes it was good to see the other groups there, but the lack of attendance was so very disappointing! We sold some raffle tickets for the dog goodies basket - mostly to other exhibitors LOL - but had no adoption enquiries, no foster carer interest, no member signups, and only a few dollars in donations. The day was topped off for us by a dust devil that blew over our stall. The stall awning now has a broken leg
Just Andrea
Yes it was lovely to see everyone - a good opportunity to get the word out about your group (even though I have never rehomed a dog to Wagga LOL), drop off some stuff and generally catch up and thank all the local groups and rangers who we work with week in and week out to save animals out that way. Not a fan of the dust, but I thought the crowds were reasonable given it was a shelter open day, not a show and the weather was nice. Got to see all the animals and have a snag or two. Can't beat that. Anyway it was great seeing everyone, even if it was a very long day with the drive. PS SMART was not there....they were at another event but would have liked to have come.
