I had that feeling niggling in the back of mind that it didn't feel right.

I think I've harassed everyone on that list within suitable freight distance. ^__^ More waiting then. I'll send you a PM Steve.

Thanks and sorry if I've been harassing you all.

Im happy for you to harass me and you are welcome to ring me too.

Plenty of Beagle pups for sale on Dogzonline.

http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/puppies/beagle.asp

We've given that link several times, but she seems insistent on not using it.

OK Thanks for letting me know. :)

Thanks again, but to repeat I've contacted most of these and am on a wait list with two however, they said it was unlikely as they had a huge wait list already.

Where are we going as a community if we are too scared to invite someone to come to our home and visit the dogs.

We talk to them first and get a good feel as to how genuine and real these people are. When they arrive we get another chance..... Jesus do we have to put up walls everytime we meet anybody.... most people are genuine....

I just got back from Europe where 3 breeders opened their doors for me to visit and three others also were happy to but I didnt get down to them. One of these is in Poland and she told me they have a high crime rate so she is very cautious but she still organises to get to know people on the phone and then invite them out.

We have lots of visitors to see the dogs, great for dogs and fun for me, ive made some great friends.

That last pair came across as a real nice chap, his wife seemed equally nice and as pretty as Paris Hilton .

To discover their real line of work, and had so many knives, plus the gun in their car and to boot when they were arrested were as the police said "high on ice" .

Thanks to the lady who had bought one of my puppies from them she arrnged to meet them to see another they had for sale, except the police arrived instead.

how would you feel to discover someone like that could turn up at your place after they already knew their way around it now?

Alarm bells going off for me, the way they have written their email is also sending off alarm bells.

I am not sure why they would bother mentioning the Thoroughbred breeders association in relation to Beagles. Things like they are from 4 generations of purebreds.....................that should go without saying, when we are registered with the AMKC (their typo) they will look at going into larger scale production. Their English is not so great - not a major crime in it's self but I wonder of it is a scam.

I would start looking on the DOL breeders pages and go from there I think.

We just see so many people come through here wanting a puppy, but get impatient and end up going BYB and it looks like that's where you're heading too, so forgive us if we keep steering you towards reputable breeder links.

Have you tried this list: http://www.beagleclubqld.org/after-a-beagle/after-a-puppy/13-club-breeders

As someone said, patience is a virtue. The "I need a puppy now" mentality can turn a lot of people off

I spent over a year researching breeders before getting my first pug puppy, and I'm the queen of impatience. When I want something, I want it now (I'm an only child, that's my excus  ), but more than that when I want something, I want it done properly.

It's ok, I can understand. I've been wanting another dog for so long, and its only been the last month or so my husband has finally let in and said ok. So I guess it was like a child in a candy store.

I have found a reputable breeder with a new litter that was referred onto me by another breeder. I've left her a phone message and hope we can sort things out (transport) etc. gives me a month to wait, but as long as I found the right breeder/litter/pup I think I can subside my compulsion to hunt. Maybe I was a dog in my previous life!!
