Kavik
Since we're on the topic of dog runs, I have fenced off the side of my house for a puppy run, it is a nice size, but there is not much shelter, apart from a kennel . What is an easy way to make a shelter for part of the run? There is no dog in there at the moment. Edited October 17, 2012 by Kavik
WreckitWhippet
I'm one of these people who keeps Greyhounds in cruel and unkind condtions I love the greyhound jammies lol! They look so cozy. :D My kennels catch all of the winter sun and are shaded in summer. I've just taken a summer pic but have to upload it. That's a one coat winter day, usually the greys are triple rugged LOL

conztruct
I'm one of these people who keeps Greyhounds in cruel and unkind condtions I think that's a great set up. The dogs don't exactly look unhappy or badly kept to me - quite the opposite.......
eyeopener
I'm one of these people who keeps Greyhounds in cruel and unkind condtions Well it's only cruel n unusual if they spend all today everyday with very little attention n no daily exercise. Surely while your home they are out playing in your backyard etc I see nothing wrong with that. It's when they only get out of a weekend n maybe 1 mid wk run that I think it's very wrong n that's just my opinion not fact n it dose not mean I think I am better in anyway either. Rysup
We have 4 Goldstein kennels in our single garage for overnight kennelling. For day time, they have runs we made ourselves - there is a thread here Edited October 17, 2012 by Rysup

tdierikx
Mine isn't anything flash, and the pups are only in it when I'm at home and otherwise engaged - the green garden shed on the right side is a 12' x 6' job. T.

LizT
My setup...but this is especially cruel and unusual....not at all recommended unless you want to be washing your bedding every couple of days!! And I suppose they are subject to this kind of treatment 24/7!
Tralee
Far out how big are they Tralee Don't ask me. They are part of a Kennel that was for sale not that long ago down the South of New South Wales. I just saved the pictures for my future plans. This one is real though. eyeopener
Very similar to what I want but with platforms n some dirt mounds so they can see across the paddocks. What housing do they have?

tlc
We decided to make a dog run about 3 years ago, It really hasn't been used once but in Winter we use it as the dog only area and for the dogs to do their business. The rest of the yard is blocked off as we get some flooding, if we have nice days they have access to the whole yard, I just open the gate and they can run riot. they don't though unless i am outside with them, they are either sitting on their beds at the back door or inside with us. the run with a treated pine decking and sides, lazer light over part of the decked area, with huge crate and kennel underneath. (the cat is so far the only one to have used the kennel which we have had for 5 years.) The run pictures with the rest of the yard. This is the scene while we at work, via doggy cam, they are not very interesting to spy on. This is where they would all like to sleep, and do for a cuddle before retiring to thier own beds on the floor, except the girls who take it in turns sleeping on the bed. The youngest still sleeps in his crate (hes 4) My side OH's side so thats my dog run and my set up, so realistically we didn't need the dog run but it has served a purpose. We have never used the crate but it might just come in handy one day who knows. and the kennel well the cat enjoys it! Seems the favorite place for all of our family is the bed!!
