minimiss
I've never been so touched by a story... Just another reason why dogs are little angels. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2012/10/15/11/15/dog-loses-snout-saving-girls Kabang's face was ripped off when it leapt into the path of the motorcycle which was speeding towards the young daughter and niece of its owner in the Philippines in December 2011. Kabang no longer has an upper jaw or nose, just a lower jaw and a permanently exposed tongue. The heroic incident made Kabang a local celebrity and an online fundraising campaign was launched to improve the dog’s quality of life. Careforkabang.com raised $20,000 which will be used to fund treatment at the world-renowned UC Davis Veterinary Hospital in California. "I followed some of their latest innovations and we're very hopeful that Kabang will get the best and modern care she needs," the dog’s vet, Anton Lim, told US network ABC7. The dog has become a local hero. "She's really a national hero here in the Philippines." Kabang and Mr Lim arrived in California last week after being farewelled with a special mass, three-hour motorcade and send-off ceremony attended by 300 dogs, according to Sky News. Kabang will require at least two surgeries, including one focusing on dental work and another focused on repairing the gaping facial wound. Nekhbet
I know the dog is a hero, but how is that poor animal going to live out its life with half of its face missing. $20,000 will save a lot of dogs in the phillipines that need the help
OSoSwift
I am afraid I am inclined to agree. What an amazing little dog. But with all of my decisions, quality of life must come first.

mixeduppup
I think the Filipino people need the money more than a dog that is going to live in discomfort the rest of its life.
WeimMe
Wow...those are some confronting images. That poor dog I wonder how the poor thing will cope with having it's tongue constantly exposed like that.
