*kirty*
If she has been sore on the non-surgery leg, it could be due to the strange gait caused by favouring the surgery leg. If that makes sense!
ness
Yeah look that is what I keep saying re the non-surgery leg but the "experts" were saying otherwise based on what I have told them as its unfolded. The RH stuff also started after she had had a run of 2 really good weeks of no issues with the surgery leg. I am very mindful of compensation type issues. Guest RosieFT
So sorry to hear you are still going through such a hellish time Fingers crossed you can get some answers soon.
ness
- tried to walk her today and she just wasn't interested really. Very unlike her. She still seems to be lacking power in her hind end in a big way and especially her surgery leg .

ness
Hmmm beyond frustrating - last two nights for whatever reason Kenz has been markedly lame in her front right. I tried taking it relatively easy with her today and she is still a mess tonight. Thing is though is that the shoulder issue flaring up or is there really more to the whole situation then we might imagine . Confused and no idea what to make of anything . megan_
Could it just be her other legs are over- compensating and hurting as a result?
ness
I forgot I hadn't mentioned the rest of her story - it may make more sense if I do - this whole specialist saga started with front end right shoulder lameness and a likely diagnosis of biceps tendonitis. It was decided to treat that with a series of PRP injections and that was done Christmas last year after we had already spent 12 months with more conservative measures i.e. crate rest/restricted exercise/physio/chiro/acupuncture. Things have been fine with her shoulder since that time. Edited October 20, 2012 by ness
Danois
I would not discount IMPA either. My boy had a shifting lameness and like someone else commented - my owner senses knew something was wrong but my original vets were determined it was HD. My new vets tapped his hock (which is where he had some swelling) and confirmed the IMPA diagnosis. I don't recall him being under a GA for that. ness
I am really confused now Danois - problem is knowing that the patella isn't stable, knowing the right shoulder has shown signs on ultrasound of biceps tendonitis. I know she isn't back to normal and its hard to know which way to look.
kiesha09
How's it all going Ness after the front end lameness?
ness
Still sore in the front end, stretches herself a heap, and the surgery leg appears to be bothering her fairly frequently to.
kiesha09
Hmmm not good. Was hoping for a good report
ness
Does anybody know if a Grade 1 luxation post-surgery could still cause the dog appreciable problems (and is it possible for it to cause more problems then a Grade 2 luxation pre-surgery). And what sort of activities may be making the situation worse? I have been told I don't have to be careful with her but I am not so convinced since it seems to be getting worse. ness
Tonight she was so lame she couldn't walk home from the park - we had only been out on a 10 min trip around the block. It looked like she was having issues with the patella but she was also walking with her head really low. Her whole body posture changed. I tried putting her down a couple of times and she was still having issues so I ended up carrying her home. I couldn't watch her try and struggle to walk . ness
Both dogs were attacked last night. I am not sure if Kenz's issue is as a result of that or whether its made whatever it is worse .

ness
She had issues again this morning - rang the chiro vet he wasn't keen on anything much from his end given she is under the care of the specialist atm. Specialist is away for another fortnight but I have emailed him on the off chance he is on emails while he is away .
