melzawelza
I buy most of my stuff oversea's, either online or my mum brings it every couple of months, or i bring it back. I buy all my kids clothes, shoes, homewares etc. There is no valid reason we pay so much more over here and i won't do it. I don't see why i should pay $50 for a surf brand t shirt here i can buy there for $8! I posted so others could see them, i don't need the moral brigade telling me i should buy here. No one told you you should have bought here. I certainly didn't. I simply highlighted that your 'overpriced' statement was unfair. We're not talking about surf shirts, kids clothes, shoes and homewares that are mass produced by a machine here. We're talking about handmade leather collars that are made by someone sitting down and working hard on each individual collar for a good length of time. There is absolutely a valid reason why people selling such items in Australia may be charging more than Karma collars, and I already told you what it was. The person making Karma collars would be making about $10 an hour for the work that goes in to them. If she is happy with earning that then good luck to her, she makes lovely collars. But to state that similar items here in Aus are overpriced is completely unfair. Should everyone be expected to make $10 an hour for handcrafted bespoke items? If a person chooses to do so then that is absolutely their right. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with charging what your skills and time is actually worth (and Karma collars would absolutely be worth more than that as well). juice
Fair enough, it wasn't really aimed at you anyway, just a bit narky at a blatant plug for another business for no reason.
Staffyluv
Sorry I didn't mean to offend by suggesting I liked Ruthless Leather products.. I did say the other stuff was lovely and your dogs looked great... I thought this was just a thread about great leather collars.. Each to their own, I would just rather support an Australian business and I know there are others who like to also. I don't think it does any harm to have options... Plan B
Fair enough, it wasn't really aimed at you anyway, just a bit narky at a blatant plug for another business for no reason. Wasn't for no reason. Ruthless do amazing work for local rescues and, on top of that, have amazing products. It's an open forum, opinions and suggestions happen.
