Squidgy
I am in a fantastic mood right now, probably something to do with the fact that my bf and I are chillin out having a quiet drink at home :) yup thats it I am such the romantic he has gone to all this trouble to make it all perfect and I pull up DOL He is reading this as I type pissing him self laughing. I think my fondest doggy memory would have to be when I was little our Heinz Cooper found a kitten in our front yard and bought it into the house by the scruff of the neck and started playing with it on our loungeroom floor like it was his own "puppy" haha....... it was the strangest thing I had ever seen, I was only 5 at the time we checked to see if she belonged to anyone and nobody replied ( back them there was no microchipping) so we kept her and she lived to a ripe old age of 18years RIP Hobo ( affectionately called by my father haha because she had no home ) Edited October 3, 2012 by thundercat
tlc
I have too many to mention! Mine make me laugh constantly and I adore them more everyday if that's even possible! One fond memory was of my youngest when he was around 12 weeks old, he had been playing with the older dog through out the day and we had puppy school that night, while all the other pups romped around with their owners learning new things mine was fast asleep on my lap the whole night, the trainer even asked me was I sure he was ok. I said just worn out, he came to puppy classes for a rest. I think I could write a book on fondest moments I just have so many and hope to have many more. Glad your having a lovely night! I love your story too! Edited October 3, 2012 by tlc

Guest Clover
Way too many to mention. So I'll just go with the most recent . Today was the first realy warm day we have had so far, so we decided to take the dogs for a swim down the creek (even though they swim there year round). My youngest was a bit hot by the time we got to the creek and dove about 3 metres from the bank into the water. I think we will have to try dock diving if it starts up down here ;). parrotpea
So many happy memories here too! One of my favourites was seeing one of my dogs teach herself to swim, after her first experience with water was a near drowning experience, which ended in my OH stripping off and diving into the dam to rescue her! ONe of my other favourites is seeing my foster smile for the first time - we found her happy place :D She loooves squeaky toys and retrieving - so lovely to see such a quiet and reserved little dog really come out of her shell :D

persephone
Oh gosh..I have just so very many ........ One that sprang to mind was of my absolutely gorgeous Kieran ..who was a 'pig dog'..daneXdeerhoundX ? 42 kg.scruffer. He was fascinated by rabbits ..and one day caught one . he brought it to me ..must have shifted his grip ...rabbit squealed, Kieran dropped it , and then ran to hide behind my legs!!! :D It was so funny . Kieran is also the only dog I've had who slept on my bed ....but not all the time , and mostly in Winter, where he would lie along my back ..and provide a wonderful warm comfort if I was feeling not the best . I also remember walking kieran thru a crowded mall ..and he was feeling very mellow and happy, so he gently took a lady by the hand and walked along with her - tail wagging happily ...funny thing was, the lady did not appreciate it .At all He used to often walk me like this ..ever so gently.... Thankyou Morris. H

Staffyluv
For my old Stafford, there are just to many to pick one.. I guess with the new guy, everyday we make more memories together... It is to hard to pick just one, they have both made me smile for so many reasons.

I love your stories aboiut Kieran perse, he sounds like he was just awesome and the stories remind me of things my big boofer does too :) Hmmm too many to mention for me but I remember one day we went to the beach and my little Chi x Belle, decided she didn't need to use the steps at the beach and dove off the edge of a path falling on her face in the sand...she then drank some sea water and threw up white foam outside a cafe  Not exactly feel good I guess but I smile when I remember it as it was SO her
Dxenion
My fondest moment came after a two year search for just the right pup. I watched this little baby grow from 3 weeks old until he left Sweden at 12 1/2 weeks, then hung on to every word the puppy visitor sent us during his 4 weeks in quarantine. Finally the day came when our 17 1/2 week old baby left Sydney quarantine and flew to Perth. I could barely contain myself, standing at the airport waiting for the him to be picked up and brought over to the collection point so I could finally meet this very special boy. Just as the sun was setting, the airport trolley truck came back from the tarmac with one lonely little crate. I remember vividly that exact moment our eyes met as the truck rounded the corner and rolled to a stop. He was sitting so proudly in his crate but his entire back end was wiggling with excitement, eyes glued on me. That little boy will turn two on 19 October and has now successfully started his career as an assistance dog. There have been many fond memories but that moment our eyes met was the fondest, because it was the moment we started our life together. Purdie
The gentle hand holding must be a wolfhound thing. My Wolfhound cross Pippa would do this with some people. She would greet visitors at the gate and escort them to the front door and keep an eye on them when i opened the door.My Hubbys father was visiting a house once and was met by a large Wolfhound who took him gently by the arm and led him to the door.He was most impressed with the dog and often told the story of the day he met a Wolfhound.
