Ptolomy
Well hopefully I will be joining this thread. I find out tomorrow after our ultrasound. Never have I been so nervous before! Usually I've been pretty convinced the girl is pregnant, but this time, I'm not so sure and seeing as the girl doesn't live FT with me, I havent' been able to gage! Fingers crossed! I have my fingers and toes crossed for you Leopuppy. What date would she be due if she was? I am not at home at the moment and I keep asking my mum - do you think she has put on any weight, is she hungry, extra cuddly - so tomorrow I will be able to see for myself, but will have to wait another 10 days to confirm

I have my fingers and toes crossed for you Leopuppy. What date would she be due if she was? I am not at home at the moment and I keep asking my mum - do you think she has put on any weight, is she hungry, extra cuddly - so tomorrow I will be able to see for myself, but will have to wait another 10 days to confirm She'll be due 14th December. It's b een a bit of a rollercoaster ride - she came into season 3 months late (although maybe she has now changed her mind and is a 8mth cycler)! Prog tested from day 4, at day 10 prog levels were 14, we were told to mate her in 2 days time. Another bitch to the same sire was also due to be mated on the same day. Off to the repro specialist we go, we do an AI, split the collection between both girls, there was plenty there so all should be ok. Prog my girl to make sure we have got her at the right time and her prog was at 65!! So hence why I'm worried that I missed. Took her to the male the next day 'just to see' and we got a natural mating also. So fingers crossed for both of us! Currently she's not showing any signs, dad says she's a bit flatter than normal, and she has been going on and off her food. Mammary is slightly enlarged but not significant, and she's no more fatter (I've been trying to get weight on her too which is a pain!).... but then it's her first litter and technically she's only 3.5wks... her mum didn't start showing until about 6-7wks! Who knows! haha!
poocow
Fingers crossed for you LP! I'm guessing this is Zara? Who is the lucky fella? My bitch is due in season any day but I don't have any stud males available. I'm going to prog test her to see when she peaks as last season she was 110 at day 7!!! Oh and can Zara tell Rumour cycling every 8 months is great, I feel for those people that have bitches come in every 3-4 months!

Have to say 8mth cycling is very handy until it comes to the matings! hahaha! I will tell you the hubby once I know she's up the duff :)
piper
Fingers crossed fro you leopuppy. You think 8 months is bad when waiting for matings - try 10 months! Only this time she came in 6 weeks early and it was a mad rush to get her interstate in time. LOL The up side is it is great for performance sports :)
goldielover
Crossing everything for tomorrow LP! Izzy was difficult this time too, then suddenly was showing signs at 4.5 weeks. She has been mated twice before (first was unsuccessful) and both times she went quiet (she's usually mental LOL). This time she was even crazier than usual, so i wasn't convinced she was pregnant until we ultrasounded her.

leopuppy04
yee har! Pregnancy is confirmed! No ideas on numbers as vet didn't count, I saw at least 5 'sacs' but then we could be counting the same one twice! hehe! Is it normal for your vets to count? My vet said there was no point as he's counted before and then found out they had far less or far more than predicted so he just says to watch her grow and if she looks small, then x-ray at 8 weeks. So yay!!! Now... just to wait and watch her grow fatter and fatter :)

goldielover
YAYYY! Awesome news LP! Most vets i've been to do count, but ultrasounds aren't very reliable for numbers, just confirmation. Never had one right yet and that includes the big repro vets! LOL. This time we had 6 at 4 weeks, 7 at 6 weeks, and she ended up having 9 (with 2 stillborn)

Kaffy Magee
I have to laugh. Someone I know did a surgical ai with frozen semen and was told at the ultrasound by his vet maybe4-6 pups, he thought she was having a few more, maybe 8. Well today she had 14!! My vets have never really given me a number, usually just said "lots", lol.

I'm still not convinced about Zara so I guess time will tell. I'm predicting a small litter.. hehe. but then, who knows! My breeder told me of one dog she had - didn't look pregnant at all so she was expecting 1 or 2 pups and ended up with 8 or 9!

WreckitWhippet
I'm at that stage where I'm trying to decide, is she , isn't she. I'm thinking she's taken from the last mating and we can expect baby Whippies around the 22nd of Dec.

Now... just to wait and watch her grow fatter and fatter :) My vet counts if they are at least 5 weeks along but she is very experienced, has a really good ultrasound and on average size litters is usually no more than one out. Before 5 weeks it is too hard to count but after 5 weeks you can see them moving (in some cases running) around. With the original ultrasound machine she just used to say yes or no. She also doesn't x-ray in the last week but will ultrasound again if necessary to check size and positions.

Kaffy Magee
It's been two weeks since my girl had insemination. I'm pretty confident she is pregnant. Just little signs that I've picked up on. I haven't been wrong yet, so let's hope I'm not wrong this time. only 2 more weeks until ultrasound! Congratulations to those that already have it confirmed!
