tlc
Is the only difference between G and D you can manually focus without having to flip the switch? Or is it that G has no aperture ring? Are Nikon lenses more complicated to understand than Canon ? Or is it just me?
huga
The G is AF-S and has no aperture ring. The D is AF and has an aperture ring. The G is apparently the step up, the better quality. I try not to think too hard about them  I know the Nikon equivalent of Canons L lenses have the gold ring around them. I only have one, which is the 105mm. Makes sense, because it is a gorgeous lens. And my most expensive by far  Edited September 22, 2012 by huga
tlc
There is just so many I sound like people at work, "why does there have to be so many colours" I can't wait till I get my first L, think it will be the 70-200. I want to know does L really stand for Luxury?

Clicking Mad
is editing over 190 photos too much for one trip to the beach? these are from almost a month ago, took me about a week, when I really concentrated to edit the last 174, between everything else, and work so obviously just a sampling effort with the 85mm lens :D may end up showing some more, see how much I'm sick of them ... late last month I also exclusively took it to the river with Lotus to trial, and last week exclusively to the beach of an evening with Saxon, may find some results here by next month ... wonder why I keep running out of space on my computer
tlc
beautiful shots! Look forward to more. Lets not talk about space, I need to cull the crappy ones but I never do, since I have had my 7D (mid July) I have taken just on 20,000 photos. at least now I am getting a much better keeper rate than I was at the beginning!! The second last pic of Lotus looks like she has a half docked tail.

I'm getting bored lol cheers for looking
tlc
They're great, not boring at all. Of all your photos I've looked at I've never noticed Lotus's tail being shorter! :) I'm going to take the 100mm to the beach with my lot soon, I'm looking forward to seeing how It goes, last time I had he 17-70 and the shots were ok but too far away, so I think the 100 will be better. huga
Oh, I love the first b&w of Lotus swimming, but they are all lovely. My 85mm earned his keep on the weekend - four sessions, all done almost exclusively with the 85mm :D

Clicking Mad
gorgeous huga ... you photographed 8 shepherds? tlc: at obedience Saxon is sedate ... he's caught on pretty quick with me taking pics, had him at the park this week off lead so he was just weaving here and there following his nose, coming back in, going out in front, while he was out in front I knelt down to take a picture, he turned around and stopped, sat and waited for the release :D my beautiful boy
