whitka
So what would be your limit on the number of dogs you would have. At the moment I only own one dog but when we get a house we are seriously considering getting another one. So for me 2 or maybe 3.
Guest donatella
2 is my max solo but if i was in a relationship i'd consider more!
Tralee
Once I get on my own property there is no limit. Of course, quality comes first. However, add rescue to that and I am sure the numbers will wax and wane.
BJean
I have 9 adults solo, but 4 to 6 would be better. Edited September 8, 2012 by lilli
tdierikx
I have 3 of my own (solo) at the moment, but 4 is more my "magic" number - but I also foster pups for rescue, so the numbers can increase occasionally... *grin* If I didn't have to work fulltime, and I had a bit more space (read acreage), I'd have way more than I currently do. Parkeyre
We've got our dogs, plus the dogs that are in between homes.. We never have more then ten here, unless there's a litter of puppies. lol.
tlc
I'd have more than 4 but realistically 4 is a good number for us (2 adults no kids) we can comfortably give them all they needs, great food, great vet care, grooming costs (good shampoos conditioners, clippers etc) spend enough time with each of them training etc. I think any more would be stretching it. I love having 4 it's a great number! :)
RiverStar-Aura
I've currently got two for the first time and I don't think I'll ever do two again. But it's hard for me to say because with anything, owning more than one dog is a learning curve and I'm still learning.
Teebs
2. Maybe 3 if one was really old. 2 for cats as well, I love my guys but 4 is too many
Xyz
We have 5, but to me 4 is preferable! :)
HazyWal
2 is my max solo but if i was in a relationship i'd consider more! What's a relationship got to do with it? I'm single, have two greyhounds, would love a few more but I rent so can't have anymore as it's hard enough to rent with two dogs.
Pretty Miss Emma
I currently have 2 and life is really good that way. I'm on my own so it's easy to manage. However, if/when I move and have more space I would consider up to 4. but I would quite like to be able to foster so maybe that is where number 3 or 4 would come from temporarily at times. Because you'd have the extra person to share the costs and work of any extra dogs. 2 is my max for myself as a singular, but if I were in a couple or married then I would happily entertain the idea of more dogs as it would be more practical between 2 people to have 2 or more dogs. tlc
We have 4 but I do most of the 'work' although I don't consider it work, bathing, clipping, brushing, feeding, training and the list goes on. My OH just gives and gets doggy cuddles and earns the money. I do work part time but it's mostly his wage that contributes to the dogs care. So it's a joint effort. **Super_Dogs**
We have 5, but to me 4 is preferable! :) Same. I also have 5 but 4 is my magic number. My lot are house dogs so can't have too many. As it is most people think I am mad with 5. They usually ask whet breed thinking small dogs........but no I have large breed. Simply Grand
I have 3 and at the moment I think that's all I can realistically manage. If I was better off financially and had a bigger yard I would happily have 1 more (so 4) but I wouldn't do it until this lot are older (they're currently 3 yrs, 16 mths and nearly 10 mths). Possibly the next dog will be one of Quinny's babies in a few years :)
Bjelkier
I have 5 but have had 8 at one point. I think 6 is a manageable number for us
flame ryder
I have 3 but considering a 4th. Two of them are big breeds and 1 small. I would like another small one so they can play.
Baileys mum
I currently have 4 dogs, & I find that's easy to manage, as all my dogs are house dogs, I would go maximum 6 dogs, but would prefer to stay with 4. :)
claireybell
2 is my max. I did want a third but after having a baby I've realized it would be way too hard
