After I take off his jammies & harness, I found something I have never seen in 2.5 decades of grooming.....A flea collar done up around his middle! Of course it is immediately apparent that the old boy has some health issues. He's been tested & clear of diabetes but I suggested they talk to the vet about Cushings or other possibilities.
