wednesday
Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue has a policy that if the dog has papers they must contact the breeder first. We've only had a couple where the breeders didn't want to take them back and they've come through us. Majority of our dogs have been unpapered, and we have helped with rehoming a couple of crosses. Most people on our waiting list want the dog to at least look like it's got DDB in it, so although we do assist with crosses, we assess them based on what they look like and their temperament. We've been contacted a couple of times by pounds that have got a dog chipped as a DDB but when I've gone there its clearly been a pitbull probably chipped and registered as a DDB to get around the BSL laws so we have to be sure the dog actually looks like it could be a DDB or a cross before we'll take it on. newfsie
Newfie Rescue in NSW goes by what they look like, no papers. I have had two newfies that were not papered and rescued by them.......I am pretty sure the other states are the same
