twodoggies2001
It seems that there are divided opinions on this thread, and that's fair enough. Some of you agree with me and some of you don't. The point I was trying to make it that it's not a good look to the non dog lovers out there. We dog owners are already getting enough flack from these people. If you want to feed your dogs off your plates and let them share your crockery and cutlery then do so. As much as I adore my boys, I wouldn't even if their mouths are more hygenic that humans. I don't share my cutlery with humans either for that matter. Does that mean that I don't love my dogs. They have the run of the house, are well fed, from their own bowls, exercised, have play dates with their buddies, given medical attention, a comfy bed to sleep in and most of all love and leadership. What more could a dog ask for?

People at restaurants can get more germs from going to the toilet, how many people don't wash their hands after going & then go & touch the door handle, which is the last thing you touch after washing your hands & opening the door. The world is becoming too germaphobic.

mixeduppup
That cafe could be shut down if a health inspector was around. It's GROSS! My dog licks it's butt, eats poop and chews raw meat, the last thing I want is to go to a cafe or restaurant and see someone letting their dog eat off their cutlery. It irks me something shocking. The thing is mixeduppup that unless the cafe owner or his staff saw this happen or was told by anyone observing, he/she probably is unaware this even happened. It's not like they would be giving the cutlery to someone else without washing it. Where do you think some people's mouths go? Or what about people who don't wash their hands after using the bathroom, how is that any different? skelp2
Dogs lick their rear ends. Would I like to use a spoon a dog has licked, even after washing? Don't think so!!!! For someone to share their coffee and utensils with their dog, well, it's disgusting.
Bjelkier
There are humans who lick other human's rear ends as a sexual act. Humans who go to the toilet, get pee or poo on their hands and don't wash them properly (or at all!), or change tampons without washing their hands afterwards. I imagine all of these people eat out at dining establishments and you get to follow after them and use the same cutlery and crockery they've used. You probably even eat food prepared by people who have used the toilet and not washed their hands. Think about that next time you're at a cafe and I bet a dog licking a spoon that then goes through the boiling water in a dishwasher won't seem nearly as bad.
