koalathebear
A colleague can't foster dogs because of apartment size constraints but would love to foster cats. She has an existing cat so the RSPCA kitten fostering is out because that requires complete segregation - can anyone recommend a reputable cat rescue in Canberra that would not have a problem with the foster carer allowing the foster cat to hang out with an existing cat? Thanks in advance! Edited August 16, 2012 by koalathebear

*kirty*
Just make sure she knows that it is a good idea to keep new foster cats seperate for a wek or two at least to let them settle and to make sure they aren't harbouring any illnesses. But its also very important to understand that many adult cats hate other adult cats, and may never be able to live harmoniously within a home with each other. Cats are very different to dogs, and sometimes no amount of patience ot careful intros will make them get along.

*kirty*
Sorry, that was directed at the OP, not Andrea. :) I'm sure she will give them all the right info.
Just Andrea
Thanks Maree - yes I hope I have some clue what I'm doing by now  . These are valid points you raise taketwo and I'm sure people new to rescue will benefit from raising those issues.

Thanks, am deathly allergic to cats and know nothing about them but have referred my friend to Andrea who definitely sounds like she knows what she's talking about :)
