Kirislin
I'm getting better at cloning, I only use Canon DPP but I was pretty happy with this effort. Firstly, I DID NOT TAKE THIS PHOTO a person on another forum put it up asking for some help to get rid of some stuff she didn't want. Here's my fix. basil by kirislin, on Flickr and here's the original. basil original by kirislin, on Flickr I dont think you'd pick it had been doctored if you didn't see the original. kja
Pretty nice job!! I admire your patience - unless it was for a client, there's no way I'd fool with major cloning projects!
tlc
Great job, before they had content aware fill in PS I use to clone out the odd thing but it always looked aweful. Actually i dont think content aware fill wouldn't work with a picture like this as you have to select the area just around the thing you want to remove and it blends the background. I haven't got the patience to do stuff like this. Edited August 8, 2012 by tlc
Kirislin
Thanks! No, definitely didn't get paid for it, for me it was a learning exercise, I was especially happy with how I remade the little heart tag around his neck. I did this one too. I took the photo and was playing with HDR which I've overdone but I was happy with the bits I cloned out, the powerlines, the fence and that big wooden fence post in front of the cow, I remade the cows head and front leg. Chequeredblackdog
Wow that's very cool! Looks like too much hard work to me!
Are You Serious Jo
I've done a bit of cloning and content aware and created more picture with content aware too when there wasn't enough on one side. For some shots it's worth the time if you couldn't get the shot without some distracting background or foreground elements.
tlc
Great Job, I don't think it looks overdone at all.
Kirislin
I just find it a bit of fun and a challenge. I dont have content aware, so I just make it up.

Kirislin
Always removing eye boogers from dog photos with cloning! Yes, it's good for that, when ever I do it I think to myself, I should have just wiped the dogs eyes first. huga
I don't tend to do too much cloning (I hate it!), but sometimes it's necessary (eye boogers and stuff). I am a total gun with liquify now though  ETA Oops, odd sizes. Was also going to clone out the collar, but haven't done it yet. Podengo
Huga I would never have guessed the Frenchie had a lead attached. Oooooh that's what the difference is! I spent ages looking at the photo trying to play spot the difference, thinking it was the exact same photo posted twice by accident

Kirislin
Hey these are really good! Naomi, how did you fix the squinty eye, that one is amazing!
Naomi
I actually copied the eye from another photo I took of him during that session and replaced the squinty eye and made sure to blend the fur around the eye using the clone tool. :)
Cat
Wow that's great. I can't show mine - they aren't nearly impressive anyways!
