Dumb Arse Advice Please

If I want to give someone some photos so they can take the disc to harvey norman, or where ever they want, to print them, what kind of disc do I get? And once the photo is on it, can they crop it the way they want as well?

You can burn them onto a normal blank CD or DVD just as JPEG files and they can do what they like with them just as if they were on a USB stick as files :)

Pretty sure HN does CDs, not sure about DVDs

do I need to buy a special kind of cd. aren't some ones that you can add to and others once you've put something on, you cant delete it or add to it. Sorry I just dont "get" this stuff.

Yes, they can do whatever they want with the images once they have them but unless you give them the files on a rewritable dvd or cd, they'll need to save the changes to a different media (another disk, a usb stick etc). Personally, I'd just give them a normal disk as they're cheaper and I always have them on hand.

I think most of those kiosk type printing places allow them to crop the photo once it's loaded onto the machine so they won't have to mess with anything - just stick your disk in and go.

yes what kja said. You can get the rewritable CDs but they shouldn't need it because they can just copy them from the CD onto their computer, USB stick etc and then do with them what they like :)
