Loving my Oldies
Just wonderful koala. These stories are so engrossing and uplifting. And to have so many adopters keep in touch!!! All down to you and the huge amount of love you put into it all. Loved the pix of Fraser and Finley and their “guardians”
koalathebear
Thanks so much all. Takeshi's still doing great. He had a fun play date with some kids of friends Takeshi on the right with Kenny (another 4lyfe foster dog) on the left. Chillaxing I got a dehydrator at Christmas so the dogs have been enjoying the dried home made treats. Here they are waiting for dried beef Very cute puppy Takeshi and turtle

The rescue group actually conducted a poll as a joke, asking if people thought that Takeshi had grown into his ears

koalathebear
Former foster Rookie is also doing well. His family have advised us that he achieved his Rally Novice title earlier this year. He has also started competing in Agility and on the weekend Rookie got his first ‘qually’ in Novice Jumping plus he came first in his height category. In the photo, he is showing off his certificate and ribbon. Rookie is also doing Noseworks and some tracking as the weather cools. His family say that he is a happy and busy boy and a joy to have around. Edited June 20, 2019 by koalathebear

koalathebear
Foster dog #21 has arrived. We've been on a break this year from fostering, but Esme showed up last Sunday. She's 12 weeks old and was taken to the vet for a check up by her "breeder". When the vet said that she had an underbite and a mild hernia and shouldn't be bred from, the breeder told the vet to euthanise her on the spot ... The vet felt uncomfortable with this so called our rescue group. We were temp caring Esme until the carer who was supposed to be fostering her adopted out her other foster - the other dog was adopted pending fences being boosted so Esme was to be with us for a few days only. When the other dog's adoption fell through because of allergies within the applicant's family, we ended up with our first non-working dog foster. So meet Esme. She's not a Kelpie She looks like a drowned rat when you bathe her

Loving my Oldies
Which one isn’t a Kelpie ??? Wonderful photographs which really had me wandering down memory lane and reminding me of my first dogs - two little white fluffy puppies in August 1993. Gosh I loved them . The only SWF puppy I’ve had since then (in fact the only puppy) is Tamar who was about six months old in July 2004 when I picked her up from Canterbury pound for another rescue group ----- 15 plus years later, she is asleep in her bed on the floor as I type this Looking forward to many more accounts of Esme's Escapades.
koalathebear
Thanks so much all. She's settling in nicely. She's sensitive to correction and guidance so doing well. Some very mild separation anxiety but we are working on it. Mega Stinkeye Getting into the Christmas spirit. Not happy, Jan. Little bit cute "Notice me senpei!!!" Standoff Kelpies are still bemused by the interloper in their midst.. Edited November 26, 2019 by koalathebear
