Silvawilow
Well colour me in the minority but I think the author has a point. Inappropriate management of dogs is a royal pain in the @rse for a lot of people, including some dog owners. Frankly if more people accepted that not everyone in the world will love their dog, dog owners generally probably would profit. We wouldn't have so many regulations imposed on us because some dog owners can't or wont' do the right thing. She is bang on the money about fat dogs too. They are EVERYWHERE. +1 ..... you're in a minority of at least 2! + me too - agreed. And strangly enough I agree with her point on hygene. We go out to cafes and restaurants not only to avoid cooking but also to get out of the house/relax and catch up with friends, etc and it's nice not having to scan for animal hair in my meal! Why would animal hair be in your meal - they don't have the dogs in the kitchen. You're more likely to see the human variety!

Could blow off the dog from the neighbouring table :) More likely to fall off your clothes into your meal though? I don't like dogs at cafes if they move around, harrass people, beg etc. However, if they are well behaved I don't see the problem? I think it should be up to the cafe owner to decide if they want dogs at their establishment or not. You can then vote with your feet.
