Starting to get excited now and also thinkingn of all the "what if's" that go with breeding.

I don't think it actually hit me till the weekend and we started to set up the whelping room that Aurora-Rose is having puppies.

I have a fair idea that she knew though.

10 days to go photo's

The wee 85 gram black and tan boy crossed the bridge today. He started fading last night.

Topping up 3 other little ones.

All gained weight today. crossfingers.gifcrossfingers.gifcrossfingers.gif

Sadly the wee black and tan girl crossed the bridge on Monday.

BBJ had gone to the loo for a min and when she came back Rosie had squashed her.

We are having to watch her 24/7. She is getting slightly better but i am sleeping next to the whelping box and check every squeak.

We crate her when we have to leave and there is no one to stay with her.

I now know what people with big dogs go through.

Never had this before with the Cavs. :(

NOTE: This is NOT my puppy, I've plucked this from http://www.ashgi.org...tic_Merles.html untill I finish photographing my babies.

Here, finally, is a true cryptic merle! This puppy looks like a normal black tri, but his tail is blue! The only blue on his whole body is that tail. Once docked, visible blue is gone, and he looks like a regular black tri. But genetically he is a blue merle and should be registered as such. Areas on his sides that may appear bluish are just highlights from the flash. This pup has an aunt who also was born with a blue tail. Perhaps the tendency toward reduced merling is inherited, since the reverse has been found to be true in collies. If this boy were bred to another merle, homozygous merles could be expected, despite his very dark coloring. It is also possible that he might sire other reduced or crypic merles if it turns out there is a genetic component.
