A Surprising Find

I went to the local Petshop today With my friend to get stuff for her new budgie.

And what did I see? Three sad looking SHIBA INU puppies in a cage :cry: poor babies. Definitely not a breed I was expecting to see! The Petshop wanted $495 for them and didnt seem to have a clue about their breed or any of their needs, I was told they are a smAll easygoing breed that is a good cuddly family dog and easy to train.:(

They also wouldn't tell me were they came from (not surprising).

If only it was against the law to sell live animals in petshops. And how's the 16 yr old shop assistant going to rehome one of these?

Unfortunately I know now that Italian Greyhounds are being sold in petshops - you can't find out who the breeder is but they are registered apparently (it's more than one).

I got one puppy surrendered to me, 3 months after being purchased from a petshop. Owner had NO IDEA about the breed, just liked the look of them and believe me, the petshop didn't tell them anything of importance ...

Last week my OH saw a litter of 6 week old Cavs at a pet shop :(

Yes, Cavaliers, Poodles, Shih Tzu, Bichons and combinations thereof are extrememly popular in Pet shops.
