Sending A Dog Crate Interstate.

Hi,

I need to send an empty dog crate to Newcastle from Melbourne. Any help on getting it there because even when dismantled it exceeds Australia posts Girth rules and they wont send it. A cheap option would be great.

You mean a plastic crate? Like a PP40 or a varikennel type crate?

Take it apart and put the top inside the bottom...put the screws in a plastic bag and put it in the middle layer. Put some tape around it and you should be ok.

Australia Post cube everything that is a "regular" shape. When the crate is disassembled, it is no longer a regular shape so they have to charge it on weight and not dimensions.

It still has to come in under 140cm in girth and 105cm in length regardless of shape.

I had one sent down from Queensland a few years ago pulled apart and sat inside itself envelope with address stuck on it came down overnight and cost just under $14

Just going to hire a crate it seems easier and no real cost savings trying to organise myself and self ship a puppy.
