Kaffy Magee
Currently my dogs are on chicken frames, mince with Vets All Natural, sardines/egg. Occasional lamb, and chicken wings. Due to my increased busy life Im considering trying part Black Hawk and part raw (minus the VAN). Im trying to work out how long a bag of dry would last me. How many grams of dry do you think is suitable per day, keeping in mind they will also get raw daily aswell. I was thinking 300gms of dry and the rest raw (total meal weight anywhere from 800gms to 1200gms). I just want to be sure they are getting adequate nutrition. Can anyone please offer me some advice :)
BC Crazy
Thats a hard one KM as every dog is different. My 2 get roughly 60% premium dry food & 40% raw. They seem to go best on that ratio. Mine are both desexed & get 6 to 7 km's walk per day. I think you just have to play around with the ratio's a bit & see what work's best for your dog. It took me ages to get it right but they both look the best I've seen them so I have got it right. Hope I was of some help :) Edited June 6, 2012 by BC Crazy
Mason_Gibbs
Interesting question. I have a puppy that seems to not be able to tolerate much raw, it all seems to give him the runs, then I have a dog who cannot tolerate a 100% kibble diet, so at the moment the pup is eating a fully dry diet and and my older boy is eating 1 cup biscuits and about 300g meat a day.
