kallistar
Hi All, Well here it is.. For everything that is DWD related. Please post all brags, and any thing that is related to this sport here. CleoJ, can you please post the link for the BMP link that you had put on before? I am looking at doing A few of my favourite things from Sound of Music, but definately having problems working out what to wear as I don't want to wear a dress, any ideas to get around this problem? Tassie, what are you up to in DWD now? Ness, how is your girl going now? Also I was thinking about pinching your Chim Chimney, but am trying to keep the props down as I have to travel with a friend who doesn't have much room in her car for props. The other song might be Lets go fly a kite..
ness
Noooo you can't pinch my Chim Chimney . Its mine I tell you LOL. Hey if I can jump on a plane anything is possible. Hmmm Kenz is on another 4 weeks strict crate rest only out to toilet on-lead . Still the specialist is happy with how she is using her leg and the fact things are still 100% stable so thats all good. Tassie
Hi kallistar. Wondering if I'm brave/foolhardy enough to try to polish up their Starters routines for a comp while I'm up in Queensland in July for the Kamal weekend at Camp tailwaggers. One more week of school then 2 weeks of holidays (well, with a show, agility trial doubletracking trial and Rally trial - but hopefully will get some time for training DWD. Kirra has a Track & Search trial this weekend - they both did Rally and Rory di ob last weekend .... and so it goes on.....

LOL.. sort of felt the same way about when my friend said she would copy the use of my flowers from my HTM "We'll Meet Again" routine. I am so stuck for music this time as we are now in intermediate for both HTM and Freestyle. Tux is turining 12 in three weeks time and I am trying to be considerate of him. The other songs that I was looking at for Freestyle.. A Friend Like Me from Aladdin, Colour of the Wind and a couple of others. HTM, Let's go fly a kite, A few of my favourite things (sound of music) but as previously stated the costume worries me for this one.. That is good news that Kenz is improving and four weeks will fly by sooner than you think. :)

You know the old saying if you're not in it, you can't win it (but in this case you can't dance it) And the surfing routine will go really well up there as it will be warm. Make sure that you video it and share it with us. Enjoy Camptailwaggers and Kamal. And good luck for all the other sports that you and your kids are doing:) Just make sure that you practise your DWD too so that you can knock the socks off the fellow dwd's up there. Have you noticed that I am encouraging you to do your routine while you are up there?
kallistar
Ok, MrsD what are you up to these days with DWD? And BC4ME? Anyone else? What does everyone think if you use your finger to "shoot your dog" Is it allowed? I taught Tux to play dead using fingers to shoot him as a youngster, but now want to use it in a routine for him to lay on his side. The only trouble is he really understands the fingers and nothing else. How do you teach paw wraps (around canes)?

I'm sorry to say you can't use for finger to imitate shooting your dog you will be DQ and immediately asked to leave the ring. It simulates the use of a weapon rule 7.3(g) page 10 of the rule book. I'm heading off to Camp Tailwaggers tomorrow for a week-end seminar with Steve Austin. A few of the girls are doing the famous Friday night a cabaret not sure if I will be performing. I haven't done anything with the dogs for weeks as I have been recovering from some surgery so my boys are more than likely going to be feral   TASSIE - I look forward to meeting you when Kamal comes over in July. Thanks BC4ME, it is what I thought too, tried to tell someone that it wasn't allowed and they said it was ok. Have started to retrain Tux but he is struggling with the new word and action. Lucky you going to Camp Tailwaggers to see Steve Austin. He is just awesome to listen to. I have been lucky in the past to meet him at a couple of small private functions. And also to be going back to see Kamal and meeting Tassie too.. And what is this Famous Friday night Cabaret? Hope that you do perform :) And sorry to hear that you've had surgery but glad that it went well.
BC4ME
And what is this Famous Friday night Cabaret? Hope that you do perform :) And sorry to hear that you've had surgery but glad that it went well. Friday night cabaret is fun. We all have dinner at 6:00 and after that we DWD girls and guys put on a display for everyone else. We can do a full routine or one we are practising, some maybe preparing a younger dog for performing to an audience etc. Cabaret's are always fun as there are no expectations and it's another excuse to get all dressed up and perform to a crowd.

Got one white shepherd girl in Novice and my youngster making her debut in Starters FS Hi Schatzi's Mum, Welcome and please post. If you have any brags, ideas, questions ask away as I am sure that the lovely people here will help you. I too, have only been in this sport for a short time as I started last year at the Melbourne Royal where I gained a pass in both Freestyle and HTM started. I had started another thread last year but the title only stated HTM, looking for music ideas, but decided that the topic didn't really include everything. Hence the new thread. What music are you dancing too? And where is your comp? Kallistar (Lyn and Tux)

What music are you dancing too? And where is your comp? Kallistar (Lyn and Tux) Thanks Kallistar :) Our comp is at Camp Tailwaggers, looking forward to it :) Schatzi and I have been dancing for about two years now, but have only managed to get to two comps in that time. At our first we got our F/S Starters title, then our second we got out HTM Starters title. She also has one pass in Novice F/S. I'm hoping we can do a few more comps this year, unfortunately we live about 500km in any direction away from dancing comps so it takes a lot of travel to get to one. I'm doing three routines at the upcoming comp. Schatzi is doing Novice F/S to "Don't Hold Back" by the Potbelleez, Novice HTM to "Don't Rain on My Parade" from Glee and then Tora is doing Starters F/S to "You've Got the Love" by Florence + the Machine. My music choices can be a little left of centre, but I like it that way . The last time we did "Don't Hold Back" someone said "Why did you choose that song" and my reasoning was "I wanted something with a slight Spanish feel to it - without it being an obvious music choice". Cleo's Corgwyn
This is the music database I use; Dave Tompkin's Music Database I like it because it has such a good search function. Shandy and I haven't done a comp since March, but we've been doing a few demo's - Million Paws Walk in Canberra last weekend, and a big dogs day out this weekend, featuring Dr Harry and our Dancing Dogs. We've also just set up some beginners classes at our obedience club, and its been fun introducing a few people to that!
