persephone
but am now wondering if this result is a normal expectation? LINK My idea of editing in RAW is to make sure colour is correct, detail and sharpening etc are pleasing . To me, this looks too saturated or something? Guest Tess32
I don't think it has anything to do with RAW though...just how someone likes to edit and they'll do so with raw, jpeg or any other format.

kja
It's an extreme example mostly to show that you can do some pretty dramatic stuff in your RAW converter. Most people new to editing think you have to use a photo editor, like Photoshop, to complete an image. Which used to be true, but not anymore. Check out the RAW conversions thread over on POTN - it's awesome and you can really learn a lot

What I mean is, if he does that "kind" of editing in general, he'd be doing it in any format. Easier in raw but the 'purpose' of raw isn't always to get "correct" (by that I take it you mean true to life?) colour etc.
