juice
My brother in the USA has just sent me an email to say he adopted a retired greyhound ( Rodney Red is his name) It gets very cold in Atlanta in winter and snows, he is a house dog, but i said he would need a nice warm coat too. He has asked where to get one, can you buy them off the rack so to speak, or does anyone here make them? I would love to send him one( its summer there atm ,so no hurry). :)

harley
I have not been able to buy one off the rack. Anniek might be able to help you? I have made a couple myself and I am by far a competent sewer! Lol Gap sa also sell them, so maybe gap near you?

Maybe have a google - here's one My link
Alkhe
Pet Paraphernalia also make them, they're a supporter of the rescue I fostered for. http://www.petparaphernalia.com.au/ - haven't seen them myself but they look good in the photos? :D

Whippetsmum
Look up Greyhound resuce in the States, they're bound to have a local link and possibly the sale would support a worthy cause. GAP Australia has coats for $40 http://www.gapnsw.org.au/content/view/13/31/ Otherwise, I've posted a pattern on Pet craft Links and updated the link last night if you or your brother knows anyone with a sewing machine. Kajtek
Maybe this will do? http://www.chillydogs.ca/index.php/products I looooove their coats. My lot has had their Chilly Sweaters for nearly 3 years and they look as good as new. Edited April 26, 2012 by Kajtek

juice
Actually a pattern would be good, my mum made my BT a fleece coat when she came over as she is handy, she used her old one as a template, so sure she could whip one up with a pattern :) Chillydogs would be out of their price range, i had one once, way too big even though i gave measurements. Danois
Chillydogs are good - they do a long and lean design. I've just discovered www.d-fadogs.com who are an NZ company. Otherwise look up D&D Coats on FB - itsmeg from DOL makes them and is outfitting half the Danes in Oz!!
Greyt
If you do not buy locally, Ebay is your friend. They also have a very good selection of Martingale collars hand made in the States starting at about $20.00. Obviously, you pay much less for postage if you buy from the US. crazydoglady
There are a couple of good stores on Etsy that make Greyhound and Whippet coats and jammies. I am getting some off there for Stella. They will make them to your measurements.

Hazel LOVES her coats! eta: I used to have to put two coats on Hazel in winter, but now she only wears one of Annie coats.
