Breeder Recommendation

A work colleague has recently lost her cav to a heart condition (although I believe the dog was quite advanced in age) and was thinking about taking a puppy from what sounds to me like a puppy farm. Luckily she asked me first. Managed to talk her into looking at a registered breeder but I know nothing about cavs and don't really know who to recommend. Any suggetions from those in the know ? She is looking at pet only (dog will have a very loving home) and is in Vic. although she would be willing to look clost to Vic. border as well. I have told her to look at breeder pages here, but think she would like a personal recommendation if at all possible.

It greatly depends on how long your friend is prepared to wait, and who has what available.

There are some great CKCS kennels in Victoria, and only a few i would not want anyone buying from, however, I don't really want to name names on a public forum, and if i name a few, then anyone else will accuse me of accusing them of being a bad breeder.

Definately convince your friend that buying outside registered breeders, especially in Cavies, is a quick way to buy a dog with endless health conditions and heart break.

I was after a recommendation for a friend a few months ago too - I recommend giving the CKCS club of Vic a call. I got some great advice about who had litters available, upcoming etc. Good as a first port of call :)
