piper
Interesting Huga. It is only Canon though - they have a link at the top about Nikon and when you go to it they have said that Nikon has restructured their prices for the Australian market so they no longe consider it necessary to offer direct import for Nikon. Good on Nikon for realising local prices are an issue and doing something about it.
huga
Oops, that will teach me to skim Yay Nikon. Actually, when I bought my D700 recently, Camera Pro informed me that Nikon now offer a 3 year warranty as standard (was previously 1 year). Go Nikon :D

I'm not a nikon user so have no idea how much their prices have changed but this is the statement JBs have about it, dated March 1: Nikon Australia has recently repositioned its local pricing on the full range of Digital SLR Cameras. Due to the dramatic local price reduction and the inclusion of a 2 year fully supported local Nikon manufacturer's warranty JB Hi-Fi has decided to suspend its Direct Import service for Nikon Cameras. We congratulate Nikon Australia for working hard to deliver global pricing competitiveness for Australian consumers.
