RiverStar-Aura
Just wanted to ask where to buy this from. I've never seen it in Pet Barn or is from vets only? I need to start putting it on Zeus's muzzle as he has pink skin there and very little fur covering.
Chequeredblackdog
Petbarn stocks it, well the one I work in does. Filtabac and the 'Vetbasix'(sp?)one. Though I haven't seen either on the shelf for a little while. I've asked for some to be ordered. Maybe supplier issues? You could ask the staff at your local one, they might be able to order some in for you. Otherwise I'd assume most vets would carry something of the sort. moosepup
I like the consistency of Filtabac (dries into a film of sorts) but I find it really dries out Moose's skin and makes it flaky. It could be because the skin in that spot I think is already quite thin (burn scar) but I have heard similar reports from others about the dryness. Lately I've just been using toddler sunscreen. Austerra
Any pet store should be able to order in for you, either brand already mentioned are readily available.
RiverStar-Aura
Thanks for the info. I'm heading into Pet Barn later this arvo and will ask about it. Moosepup, is toddler sunscreen safe to use on dogs?
Juddabug Whippets
We use baby sunscreen too, never had any issues!
HazyWal
I also use baby sunscreen on my white greyhound.I found the Vetbasix was way too thick and hard to spread so my vet suggested kiddy sunscreen and it's great.
moosepup
Thanks for the info. I'm heading into Pet Barn later this arvo and will ask about it. Moosepup, is toddler sunscreen safe to use on dogs? Well I figure if a baby can wear it, the dog should be okay. Most vets I've asked have been a bit vague. Just make sure they don't lick it heaps and don't get it in their eyes and you should be right. :)
NOCTRL
Filtabac or My Pony Sunblock (ok, it's for ponies, but it won't turn dogs into ponies either  )
donski
I'm a fan of Fitabac and got it from my vet surgery. I like the tip about infant's sunscreen though. Bound to be cheaper
Jade~Harley~Bella
Out vet said to use kids sunscreen. I use it on Bella's face and we have had no issues apart from her not wanting to put it on :) I'd imagine it is much cheaper than dog sunscreen as well.
