tlc
Did you get a new lense or you using one of your current ones? You had the D300 yea? I just had a quick read of the D800 review the other day. It's looks pretty schmick too!
huga
Yep, just my normal lenses - I was using the 24mm. Which is so much wider on the full frame :D I have the D300s, which will now become my back up body, I really need two bodies for weddings. ETA There was no way I'd be able to afford the D800, so I wanted to grab a D700 before they are all gone. Edited March 13, 2012 by huga
tlc
Good choice, they have come down a bit in price too, I guess they do that when the new ones are about to be released! When my friend got married her photographer was shooting her wedding with a D80 And had no back up camera and guess what thank god it was after all the important stuff at the reception her camera went kaput, so that was the end of the pics for the night. PossumCorner
Sheesh Huga, great buying, thanks for results/details, green with envy here in a nice way, well fairly nice, still green but. Roova
Wow, eyes really pop don't they! I can't stop staring at the eyes in each photo. Your kids are super cute!
huga
Yes, the detail in the eyes, the difference in the background, the lack of noise - it's all awesome. And Kirislin - yep, the kids are pretty brilliant with the camera. It's even possible to shoot Lola on 1/80th. Sid, on the other hand...

huga
A few more. Same subject matter, but I still can't get over how well it goes in low light. I should take some side by side comparisons with the D300. All of the above were ISO 3200. Edited March 16, 2012 by huga
tlc
Great Huga, I'd love to see some comparisons with the two.
huga
The comparisons were tough, because one is FX and one is DX. They really need to be big so you can see the difference. Anyway, ISO6400...
helen
That is great, looks like a great camera. Did you do any noise reduction on these or not? That is such a good selling point for these Nikons.
