Beetroot In Vegie Mix

I have alot of beetroot growing in my vegie patch, just wondering if I can add some

to my dogs vegie mix.

yes, but don't panic if their poo becomes bright-dark red over the next couple of days ;) I would cook it up first though it's not really good raw

When my old boy had a pancreatic attack years ago, his diet was modified by a homeopathic vet and in the veggie mix there was raw beetroot. All the veggies were processed through the food processor. Ii fed it to both my dogs and both relished the veggie mix. No ill effects.

I tend to avoid anything with beet pulp as it can contribute to tear staining in white dogs. I should imagine raw beetroot would be similar.

I've never heard of that lavendergirl but at a guess it would also probably depend on the type of beetroot. Have you tried white beetroot?

Sorry - to clarify I was referring to kibble with beet pulp.

When I used to make a veg mix for my dog I added cooked beetroot and he was fine with it but his poop would come out a dark colour
