MalteseLuna
Except I want to move home to SA in a couple of years :p :D If I thought there was a way around the 'big genetics' companies it would be something I'd seriously consider. From what I've heard the current providers aren't winning a huge amount of friends They really aren't the things I could tell you (but not on a public forum) ;) . I wish we could tell everyone what has happened but I'm sure some of these companies have more lawyers than scientists. Genetic testing patents are an absolute legal minefield. This is why I am against compulsory profiling. I don't mind disease tests being patented by those that discover them because they have poured a fortune into developing the tests but I do object to profiling all needing to be done through the same lab because they can't share data to make it more competitive. Inevitablue
Got the results back, and I clearly asked for Progressive Rod Cone Degeneration to be tested. The form's also had Aust Cattle Dog's as the breed. So, in the email it states 'No results available' for all of the dogs but instead have given me full DNA profiles.... I have to wait until tomorrow to find out whats happened.....sigh. Can anyone with experience in this comment on the above? I certainly didn't pay for a full DNA profile and no PRCD results!! Logically, how can you do a full DNA profile, but then miss some genes?
