erikajayne
Hi Guys, We have a wonderful, placid 2 year old male Rottweiler and would love to get him a medium sized sister, both me and my partner have always said we would like two but we wanted to wait until Carter was old enough. Carter is now well trained, highly socialised and just a joy, plus such a mummy's boy! We were thinking of getting a Staffordshire Bull Terrier but my partner is concerned about how much work it will be and whether we would need to be 'on edge' as he has read that whilst staffy's are great they do have a natural instinct to fight with other dogs. Has anyone had experience of this? Can anyone recommend another breed as a second dog (we are looking at getting a medium sized dog) Thanks in advance
tdierikx
Whatever dog you get, it would probably be best to get a puppy so that Carter can help you train/socialise it. If you source your pup from a reputable breeder, you are more likely to get a dog with both the type and temperament you are after - and I don't think that a Stafford would be out of the question if sourced from such a breeder. Animal House
I'd go for another Rotty. :D A well bred (from a registered breeder who does the appropriate hip scores) pup with a good temperament should fit in well. :D
TrinaJ
I'd go for another Rotty. :D A well bred (from a registered breeder who does the appropriate hip scores) pup with a good temperament should fit in well. :D Me too, but hey I am biased  A puppy from my last litter went to live with a couple who have a Staffy.... Rocky (staffy) and Mindy (Rottweiler) are the best of friends. Mindy will be 18 months old at the end of this month and Rocky is 2 & 1/5. Regardless of what breed of dog you introduce into your household remember to keep them seperate from each other when you are not with them and no rough play as the puppy could get spattered in all the fun. Wishing you every success in your search for a new addition to your family. Trina
