LOLAFOLATA
Hi, My vet has told me that if my dogs are eating grass it's because their tummies are upset. I planted clumps of pet grass in their yard for them after reading that it's a herbal remedy pets enjoy to chew on from time to time. My 3 stand and pick at it constantly throughout the day. My older girl has had ongoing tummy issues but our new puppy now copies her and stands and picks at it too. They rarely vomit it up but it's occasionally undigested in the poos. Wondering whether I should remove it or not Anyone else have chronic grass eaters?
GoldenGirl85
Yeah, my dad always jokes that I want a horse so badly my dogs have learned to graze...I've never been worried by it
Lisey
Mine both do it a fair bit - they don't seem to vomit after - I think they just enjoy it...
Sayreovi
My oldest has been a constant grass eater his entire life, he just likes the taste and is picky about what grass he eats......he also eats flower buds when they are just closing for the night. He is a strange boy :)
Jumabaar
My dogs have a "Im feeling sick and HAVE to eat grass right now" dance. They eat it quite urgently. But 90% of the time they go out they will have a bit of a graze, generally being very picky about who gets the best tips. Very cute!!
Mason_Gibbs
Mine eat it all the time too no vomiting,..
luvsdogs
Tilba will eat & eat & eat grass quite frantically when I think she's feeling sick. The 1st time she did it as a pup she ate for over an hour & then brought up the hole she'd eaten out of an old pillow case I had in her bed.

bark
My dog has eaten grass since he was a young pup with stomach problems and he'll still eat it now and then if he's had something that doesn't agree with him.
Kadbury
 I suppose they can't really put their paw down their throat to make themselves vomit - so grass must do the trick. My Cavaliers always ate grass and then did a little chuck. :D

melzawelza
Yeah, when they eat it because they feel yucky it's like they've got a sense of urgency to it... Like they're trying to eat as much as they can in as short a time as possible. (A few weeks ago my girl ate a heap of poo at the park and was doing this constantly). But when they just graze at it or have a normal munch I think they just enjoy it!

laneka
We call our Rotts Aberdeen Angus. They graze a lot, just for the enjoyment I think because they definately are not sick.
BC Crazy
I have 2 'grazers' as well. Neither of mine are sick. They eat grass on a daily basis. I will even pick it & they will eat it out of my hand but it has to be this certain type, not just any old grass will do. LOL Only the nice new, young stuff  Edited February 25, 2012 by BC Crazy
