Does Time Of Feed Affect Behaviour?

or a dog who has just eaten has the energy to run amoke :D

This one is mine. Goes bazerko and generally loves to run a zoomie after a feed.

My previous (avatar) girl "Kal" (bhcs) generally settled more after a feed.

Both of mine too! Doesn't matter what we feed them.

OH, without having seen me feed them, will be able to tell they've had dinner because they get all keen for a game of tug or fetch :o

Really? There may be a training component in it then as i hv large sight hounds and do no allow running straight after feeding.

My pattern is feed then bedtime at night and feed and go to work in the morning. Been working fir about 20 years now. They often put themselves to bed after dinner.

And before someone comment that i might be missing something during the day. I thave THAT neighbour so trust me I wld hear!

Lol at your above post, Meea.

No training component in my boy's behaviour following a meal. I too am wary about running dogs after food and have worked to avoid it. But regardless of that, lunie tunes zoomies and activity that looks like "play with pretend other doggy" is what my boy does.

I think so. Mine are quiet but that is becasue they are fed when the house is winding down and they are laying around on lounges. They get a snack in the morning but that's it.

I have also had a breed known to suffer from bloat in the past, and one of them with it three times, so even now no hoonies allowed regardless of breed. Old habits are hard to break :)

My boy is fed twice a day - evening meal doesn't make a difference. Once he's fed I'm usually on the couch watching TV (or at the computer answering emails) - then I hear him. He knows that zoomies inside the house are not allowed. If the door to the outside is closed, he gets in the lounge area, throws himself into play bows, looks to one side of him then to another (as though interacting with his imaginary friend) and throws himself out of the play bow and straight into a mid-air spin. Repeats a few times, maybe followed by a bit of a run down the hall way. Grabs one of his toys along the way and comes to find me.

I admit to his antics bringing a smile to my face.

We feed twice a day. Kodiak apparently can't digest food unless she wanders over to her bed and lies on her back with her legs straight up in the air, for around half an hour. That toller has some really special quirks!

Doof doesnt give a flying piglet about food. It has no obvious or immediate affect on him at all
