SueM
I have a little dog that may need one shortly and was wondering the average cost. I am in Qld.
Kirty
A lot unfortunately. I think you would be looking at over $1000 from memory.

Tralee
Why should an MRI cost that much? I didn't pay that much, and X-rays for dogs and myself are comparable. I would expect $500-600 max, otherwise you should be asking why!
Ambrosia
I paid around $1k a year and a half ago.
ness
I was quoted $1600 for MRI plus xrays of a shoulder recently. Edited February 4, 2012 by ness

Jumabaar
There are a few practises here in sydney that do it cheaper, but yes the going rate is $1000+ Why does it cost more?? Well dogs are anaesthetised/sedated for an MRI (humans are not) . Also there is no medicare to offset the cost which is the bigger factor! An X-ray is more comparable in cost probably because the equipment is not as pricy and it gets used far more than an MRI.
~*Shell*~
Zero's was $1400 with everything but he got tests done at the same time. I think the cost of the MRI + anaesthetic was about $1100.
Janba
I don't know how much it is for dogs but the medicare gap I pay is $190 so they are not cheap.
Miss B
I think I paid somewhere around the $1,200 mark.
