Salukifan
Not signed. The dog's owner needs a lawyer and a reality check. A petition certainly won't help save the dog.
Panto
Is everyone reading the full story?? Even on the first link/website, euth is not the only option and Heidi doesnt need saving - the owner has a few options, including the family moving out of the Royal Oak area. She is not doomed. "The dog owner was issued a ticket. If she pleads guilty with explanation and pays a fine, she can continue to keep the dog. If she pleads not guilty and loses, she pays the fine. Only if she refuses to plea or refuses to show up to court, she can forfeit her right to keep the dog. She is currently in possession of the dog. The dog is not licensed and the dog did bite." (It's noted in the article - link provided by weasels - that she registered Heidi a matter of days later)
Erny
I don't know the laws over there though, Panto. Out here in Victoria, if one was to plead guilty, their dog is decreed a "Dangerous Dog" and subject to the restrictions under that law, which wouldn't be fair IF the dog had only simply jumped up and had its head accidentally made contact with the other person's nose. Panto
True Erny. We definitely don't have the full picture. I hope for Heidi's sake, she is not lost in the politics of the situation and the best outcome for her is achieved.
