capanash
What a terrible Group 7 entry for that show... i'll have to run off and check who the judge is.
Bug
I guess that is the problem - no one knew the judge
Dellcara
or maybe with it being summer people don't want to go to a show that starts for most breeds at 12 noon.

Yep that is what puts me off, I don't understand why they don't put on another judge rather then making GSD go first then everyone else later. Not to mention the ground is quite often crispy slippery grass and tiny rings. I am only taking the Affen as it is a breed specialist.

They start earlier due to being shown specialty style at this show. Therefore they take much longer. They usually finish up just before the group specials start . SwaY
Then why can't every start at the same time? Or are you saying it's going to take close to 6 hours to judge 88 dogs? Bloody hell, glad I don't have GSD's  Edited February 2, 2012 by SwaY
puglvr
Yes it does take that long because they critique. However I do think they should start Group 1 earlier because there is 170 dogs in group 1, and group one normally has a big entry anyway. so everyone will be finished and standing around tapping their feet waiting for group 1. There has been shows where Group 1 with big entries finished before other group with much less entries! I remember one show, Group 1 was finished and note that Group 6, 4 and 3 was still going and Group 2 was finished at the same time!!

I agree with this, Group 1 should start at least an hour before every other group to give them a head start.
Bug
Northerly flow will strengthen during Sunday ahead of a low pressure trough, expected to move eastwards across western Victoria during the morning and early afternoon, and eastern Victoria during the afternoon and evening. Winds will shift gusty west to southwesterly to the west of the trough. Damaging winds averaging 50 km/h with peak gusts around 90 km/h are forecast for parts of the South West, North Central and Central forecast districts from late Sunday morning. Temperature expected to be 29 but usually feels hotter up here. UV is extreme. Grounds are good - grass mown.

Bug
Should be OK - just bring extra tent pegs:) You know how often The weather forecasts are wrong! The same forecast for all the central area which includes Melbourne. If the change brings rain we would be very grateful as Ballarat is sooooo dry - only about 10mm of rain in January and last year we had 260mm. Feast or famine! Shazzapug
If you factor in the winds it takes it to an 80- Extreme on the fire index.
