Mason_Gibbs Posted January 29, 2012 Share Posted January 29, 2012 I was wondering how normal it is for a dog to have a scratch etc a day, my other dog is an allergy dog so as soon as my pup scratches i panic. He will have a scratch once a day or so and maybe dp the nibbling on his back legs also once a day. Nothing too drastic but i was wondering if thats normal? Also when he sheds more he scratches more? bedazzledx2 Posted January 29, 2012 Share Posted January 29, 2012 (edited) Too many!!! ;) Zac is scratching heaps at the moment and I have gone over him with a fine toothed comb...absolutely no fleas! I think sometimes they are just scratching out dead coat. ETA if the skin is not red or sore I wouldn't be concerned...a hair dryer on full blast no heat can show legions on the skin. My previous dog (who never had skin issues) would scratch and chew herself a few times throughout the day. How many times do you itch per day?
